Hey there!
We are getting towards the end of 2020 and Thanksgiving and the winter holidays are upon us. I wanted to spend this week's post on the things I have been most thankful this year (yes, there were things to be thankful for this year).
The biggest thanks goes to my wife, Jamie. She encouraged me to get into real estate. She encouraged me to stick with it after a less than stellar first year, and she puts up with me every time I'm too lazy to do the leg work required to maintain a steady stream of business (working on that last part though!).
I am thankful for every opportunity to get outside for some fresh air and to de-stress. My favorite place is the zoo, but I'm pretty happy to be anywhere outside. This year has been difficult to find a lot of indoor activities, so it's been easy to go hiking in the Blue Hills or walking through Powers Farm in Randolph. Exercise creates endorphins which make you feel happy. Some food for thought for those of us trying to find motivation on the day to day.
I'm thankful for the weekly Zoom call I've had with many of my friends since March. It has been great seeing those familiar faces Thursdays at 8:15 (7:15 Central). The conversations never get too deep, but it allows for some very entertaining discussion topics like why do peacocks get free reign at the zoo?, or why don't people know how the mute feature works 8 months into the pandemic? It's not that hard, I think some of you need to figure that you.
I'm very thankful for my past and current clients. Thank you all for allowing me to work with you on one of the most important decisions of your lives. I am so lucky I get to do this every day. Working with you guys is truly a joy, and I very much look forward to working with new clients (and maybe some old ones) in the months or years to come.
I'm also very thankful for my dog, Memphis. He's not the quietest member of the house, but I love that guy. Having a rescue dog has helped give me a lot of perspective of my choices and temperaments. I can be impatient at times, but I'm working on it and he's helping me get there. We've had Memphis for 5 years now and it has been a great experience. If you live in Randolph, you may see me walking him in the Althea Rd area.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving next week. Thanks again for taking the time to read my thoughts. I'm here to hear your thoughts as well if you ever need to share.
Until next time,
Dave
